Manga Style Drawings

I have my own drawing style and I like it, but I like manga drawings much more. So, I learn how to draw by copying. I look at a picture and try to draw it. I want to show you some of my attempts.

Ouran High School Host Club

(It contains spoilers!!!)

"Ouran High School Host Club" is one of the first animes, I've ever watched. Later, I read the manga (manga is a Japanese comix) by Bisco Hatori. And I just love it !!! I've watched the drama as well.
The action takes place in a fancy school for rich kids. The main characters are six wealthy boys and  a commoner girl, who dresses herself as a boy. They are members of their own host club and all they do is to entertain ladies. The characters are very funny but they also have a deeper surprising side.

The Prince

Tamaki Suou is called the host club's King and he is the founder of the club. He is half-French and his family owns a successful business and even Ouran. Tamaki is narcissistic and a bit stupid but he is a gentleman and very kind. The club members are like family to him and he is the father of that family. I guess he is a parody of the typical prince-like characters in animes. And it's hilarious that he doesn't realize his love for Haruhi at first.

 The Natural Rookie

Haruhi Fujioka is a girl but she is disguising herself as a boy (I think this is one of the most favourite types of characters in Asia). She is a scholarship student, the only one in Ouran who isn't rich.

Haruhi becomes a host club member by accident. She looks for a quiet place to study and gets into 3rd Music Room. She is wearing her father's clothes (because she can't afford buying the expensive Ouran uniform) and that's why the host club members think she is a boy. Later, they find out that Haruhi is a girl (I love those light bulbs!!!). Haruhi breaks an expensive vase, worth 8 000 000 yen, and to pay off her dept she agrees to work at the host club.

Haruhi is a good intelligent girl who studies hard to become lawyer like her late mother. Because of that she is one of my favourite female anime characters. I hate when the leading female character is a stupid girl. I also like her I-don't-care attitude.
However, she doesn't know how to have fun so the host club members teach her that.

The Mom

The Shadow King - Kyoya Ootori, is the host club's Vice-President. He is the third son in a powerful family, which owns hospital and even police. He is cool, ambitious, smart and very greedy. Kyoya always wants to make a profit out of everyone and everything. He tries to show his father that he is capable of inheriting the family business like his older brothers. He is a very interesting character and develops a lot throughout the anime.
By the way, Tamaki calls him "Mom".

The Naughty Twins

Kaoru and Hikaru Hitachiin are very mischievous and they like making fun of Tamaki. They are the funniest characters in this anime/manga.

The host club customers' reactions of their "forbidden brotherly love" act are insane. The twins think that everyone exist in this world to be their toys and their favourite toy is Haruhi. They are always joking around but they live in their own world before they meet Tamaki. Haruhi is the only one who can make difference between them.
There is also shown a vulnerable side of them in the anime and some very dramatic moments from their childhood.

The Loli-shota type

Mitsukuni Haninozuka, more famous as Honey-sempai, is the cutest thing ever. He is actually the oldest host club member, but looks like a little boy. He likes his stuffed toy, called Usa(Bunny)-chan and eating cakes. But he isn't always so adorable. Honey-sempai has a dark side and is a very skilful karate fighter. He sometimes acts very sensible and gives a lot of advises to the other host club members. He has a really epic battles with his brother.
The Strong Silent Type

Takashi Morinozuka (Mori-sempai) likes kendo (martial art of sword-fighting). He doesn't speak much but he is very nice. Mori is Honey-sempai's cousin and he takes care of him. His family has served the Haninozuka family for many generations.
I'm a bit disappointed that the anime doesn't show the other side of him. In the manga, when  Mori is tired he becomes very out-going and flirtatious. Very funny!

My Favourite Secondary Characters

The Otaku Girl

Renge Houshakuji is the representative of all girls screaming "Kya!!!" (that includes me). She comes from France after seeing a photo of Kyoya, who looks like her favourite video game character. She flies right out of her home, literally. Renge is kind of crazy.

Renge intrudes the host club and declares herself as manager of it and as a fiancee of Kyoya. The host club members leave her to do what she wants because she is the daughter of an important business partner of Kyoya's father. She likes cosplay and produces the "Moe Moe Ouran Journal".
When she is disappointed by Kyoya, she starts having a crush on Haruhi (she doesn't know that Haruhi is a girl).

The Dark Side

Umehito Nekozawa is the president of the Black Magic Club. His hobbies include making curses. He has a strange illness, called photophobia, so he prefers dark places. He has a voodoo doll - Belzeneff.
Nekozawa-sempai has an younger sister - Kirimi, who likes shojo mangas and is affraid of the dark. She wants her brother to be a prince. The host club members help him to get along with his sister, even though he can't show his prince-like appearance.
Nekozawa is one of my favourite characters in both anime and manga.

The Kind Yakuza

Ritsu Kasanoda rarely appears in the anime but he gets into some very funny situations. He is the son of a yakusa boss and has a scary face, so he is called "Human Blizzard". But he is very nice, takes care of animals and likes gardening. He wants to have friends to kick cans with (his hobby) and the host club members try to help him. Of course, they make it worse. He actually finds out that he already has friends.
Kasanoda finds out by accident that Haruhi is a girl and has a crush on her. When he admits his feelings to her, she doesn't even noticed that he likes her and tells him that they are just friends. All girl customers sympathize him after seeing that and are more friendly to him.
Hikaru, Kaoru and Tamaki call him Bossa Nova-kun and Haruhi calls him Casanova-kun. I burst into laughter every time I read, hear or think of it (even now!).

Music

The opening song "Sakura Kiss" is nice ... I guess, but I don't really like it. But there are few tracks that I enjoy much. Check them out below!

What do you think about the classical music? I'm not an expert but I like some pieces and I definitely like this one.

Renge's theme song

Warning! It's so sweet! You'll get a cavity!

If you haven't watched "Ouran High School Host Club" yet, I recommend it to you. Even if you aren't an anime fan.

Women Need Romance in the City

I'm not a spinster ... yet. But these days I watch a Korean drama about an unmarried woman and I have decided to make a list of some of my favourite TV series about old maids.

"Sex and the City"

I'm starting with the most epic of them all, the one, which has begun the whole thing - "Sex and the City".

I know that everyone has heard about this TV show, but still. I love it!
This show is about love and relationships, real friends and pursuing happiness. It shows that a person has the right to choose how to live his/her own life . And no matter how old a girl is, she can relate to some of the things, which happen in the series. And of course, we all like Carrie Bradshaw's glamorous lifestyle.

But I don't like the two films at all. I think everything has to come to an end at some point or it starts losing its sense.

"The Woman Who Still Wants to Marry"

This is one of my favourite Korean dramas. It is also called "Marry Me", but I like the title "The Woman Who Still Wants to Marry" better.

The story is about three unmarried women in their 30s. Lee Shin Young is a journalist, who falls in love with a younger man. Jung Da Jung is an interpreter, who wants to find a husband desperately. And Kim Boo Ki - a divorced woman, who doesn't look for a serious relationship and actually gives the idea that people should love themselves first. The plot also deals with women's career ambitions, friendship, age difrence in a relationship and cheating.

It's cute and very amusing drama. And if you need more reasons to watch it, I'll say ... Kim Bum.

 "I Need Romance"

Last but not least, the drama that I'm currently watching - "I Need Romance 2".I don't like the first version of this drama.

It's very fresh and funny drama. "I Need Romance" is the Korean version of "Sex and the City", but with less "sex" and more "city". It actually shows that every woman needs some romance and drama, an exciting love story.

This drama is about three women, too. The composer Joo Yeol Mae has a complicated relationship with her "special" friend Yoon Seok Hyun, who writes screenplays. And also a new man appears in her life - Shin Ji Hoon. Yeol Mae's friend Sun Jae Gyung has even more complicated relationship with her husband. And Woo Ji Hee- a very naive girl, who is dissatisfied with her boyfriend.
People usually don't talk about this, when they make a drama review, but I should say it - I love the sets of the drama. And there are also some heart-melting moments, that I really like.
"I Need Romance" is currently airing, so I can't wait to see how the story will develop.

By the way, I don't think that people in their 30s or 40s are old. So, the age problem in all three TV shows is very exaggerated.
